The Texas Board of Nursing (BON) has the jurisdiction to hear and decide cases involving the practice of professional nursing in Texas. Any RN or LVN found guilty for violating the state laws and regulations as well as charged with any case may be subjected to a disciplinary case if not properly defended by a nurse attorney.

An instance of this happened to an LVN Edinburg. During the time of the initial incident, the LVN was employed as a staff nurse in a medical facility in Edinburg and had been in that position for only one month.

On or about July 18, 2017, through November 6, 2017, while employed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Edinburg, the LVN allegedly failed to accurately maintain and complete patient medical records in a timely fashion. Her conduct was likely to injure the patients in that subsequent caregivers would rely on his documentation to administer further care to the patient.

When summoned by the Texas Board of Nursing, the LVN failed to properly present and defend her case against the court. She was disciplined by violating the Texas Board of Nursing regulation.
